Wheelchair Sport NSW met with us, to explain they have a new marketing strategy and Chairman and that included "That we cannot call it SLAM DOWN UNDER" it has to be a FESTIVAL. 
As a group of volunteers over the19 years of hosting SLAM ( offered to us then by WSNSW to take over it because they lost money doing so.)  their marketing strategy was to call it a FESTIVAL.

We didn't particularly want clowns and fairy floss during our games, so we parted company.

Slam Down Under is a wheelchair basketball competition held by the Wheelchair Sports NSW Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball group.

In its 11th year the Slam Down Under competition regularly attracts teams from interstate and overseas.

Slam Down Under is a competition which caters for all levels of wheelchair basketball experience with 3 divisions and a separate Masters tournament; there is a competition for everyone!
