Wheelchair Sport NSW met with us, to explain they have a new marketing strategy and Chairman and that included "That we cannot call it SLAM DOWN UNDER" it has to be a FESTIVAL. 
As a group of volunteers over the19 years of hosting SLAM ( offered to us then by WSNSW to take over it because they lost money doing so.)  Their marketing strategy was to call it a FESTIVAL. We didn't particularly want clowns and fairy floss during our games, so we parted company.

Slam Down Under is a wheelchair basketball competition held by the Wheelchair Sports NSW Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball group.

​

In its 11th year the Slam Down Under competition regularly attracts teams from interstate and overseas.

​

Slam Down Under is a competition which caters for all levels of wheelchair basketball experience with 3 divisions and a separate Masters tournament; there is a competition for everyone!
